Writer. Educator. Critic.

Sui Ting specialises in fiction. Her creative works have received a number of awards, including the Singapore Tertiary Chinese Literature Award, Lianhe Zaobao Gold Award, Singapore Golden Point Award, and Singapore Youth Chinese Literature Award. Her debut short story collection, Fish Birth, was shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize in 2020. She is a critic for The Re-Viewers, a collective started by a group of Chinese theatre practitioners in Singapore. In 2022, she founded the literary platform “Read Write Island Project” with the aim of fostering a literary community and nurturing new writing talents. She is a full-time instructor at National University of Singapore, teaching creative writing in Chinese. She is currently writing a climate-crisis themed novel, which is a recipient of Singapore National Arts Council’s Arts Creation Grant.

随庭的小说曾获新加坡大专文学奖首奖、联合早报金奖、新加坡金笔奖首奖及新华青年文学奖金奖,首部短篇小说集《孕鱼》入围2020年新加坡文学奖。随庭曾任新加坡剧评网站“众观”驻站剧评人和《联合早报》特邀剧评人。作品多刊登于《联合早报》,并多次入选文艺城年度文选《文字现象》,2022年被选为联合早报“小说m世代”的推荐作家之一。她是新加坡作家协会会员,曾多次受邀参与新加坡文学周、新加坡作家节、早报文学节,并在新加坡国立大学、新加坡晚晴园、城市书房等开设讲座。目前获新加坡艺术理事会的创作基金赞助,写作探讨气候危机的长篇小说。

随庭也致力于推广创意写作教育。她曾在Yale-NUS College任教,教授中文阅读、写作与电影,目前任教于新加坡国立大学中文系,开设创意写作课程。她连续六年担任新加坡教育部Creative Arts Program的小说创作导师,也是推广华文学习委员会的驻校作家计划的一员,担任全国中学生文学论坛的创作导师,为许多不同中学的学生开设文学写作的训练。2022年创办文学赋能与传播平台“读写岛计划”,定期举办文学活动,开设常规读写课程,致力于建立“陪伴式共读共写”的文学社群,发掘并孵化普通人的读写能力。立足新加坡,面向世界文学谱系,读写岛计划已在各社交平台积累了近3000名粉丝,举办的活动与线上文学课程吸引了来自中国大陆、台湾、香港、澳门及新马、欧美等不同地区的几百位华语文学爱好者参与。
